π Tomato Seedlings Care Guide
Thank you for purchasing Tomato Seedlings from Lydiony Garden!
Your plants have been carefully packed for shipping. However, itβs normal for them to look a little tired after their journey. With proper care, they will recover quickly and grow strong.
πΏ When You Receive Your Plants
-
Unpack carefully
Open the package as soon as possible and remove the plants gently.
Itβs normal if the leaves look slightly wilted or droopy after transit. -
Rehydrate the roots
Place the root plugs or soil portion in clean water for about 10 minutes to rehydrate them.
This helps the plants recover from shipping stress. -
Keep in a shaded area
After soaking, let the seedlings rest in a shaded, sheltered spot for a few hours before planting.
Avoid direct sunlight immediately after unpacking.
π± Transplanting
-
Transplant your seedlings into well-drained soil or quality potting mix.
-
Choose a sunny position (at least 6 hours of sunlight daily).
-
Water gently after planting.
π§ Ongoing Care
-
Weekly feeding
After transplanting, water your plants once a week with seaweed fertiliser (such as Seasol).
This helps reduce transplant shock and encourages healthy root growth. -
High potassium fertiliser during flowering
When your tomato plants begin to flower, start using a high-potassium fertiliser (such as tomato or fruit fertiliser).
This supports strong flowering and better fruit development. -
Regular watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Deep, less frequent watering encourages strong root systems.
π Extra Tips
-
Mulch around plants to retain moisture and keep roots cool.
-
Remove the lower leaves as plants grow to improve airflow.
-
Stake tall varieties to support heavy fruiting stems.
